Sim Companies for schools

Unleash the educational power of Sim Companies! To follow the great John Dewey, Sim Companies provides a learning-by-doing way to teach basic economics and business principles. Many schools and students already applied Sim Companies to the curriculum with a great success.

How does the educational version differ to the freely available Sim Companies?

The difference in the business simulation aspect is minimal. Students can still interact and make business relationships with the rest of the players and are not separated from the rest of the server. The main difference comes with better monitoring features for the teachers. The in-game purchases are disabled, but students get 40 sim boosts each month, to help ensure leveled playing field for everyone. The student group also gets dedicated chatroom for better game related communication with the teacher.

Teacher dashboard

The teacher account gets special privileges to allow better monitoring of the students and possibility to help out with business decisions if students get stuck.

  • See companies of all students in one compact view, with the company levels, cash and other relevant company growth statistics.
  • Ability to audit the student companies, can check and recommend business strategies.
  • Get a chatroom private to your course
  • See the teacher's guide for instructions of how to control your class

Privacy

The protection and security of the students are a priority. The simulator is GDPR complaint on top of which it is designed to work with as little of the student private information as possible. Student names, addresses, and other private info will not be stored on Sim Companies servers. You will invite and identify your students by their school assigned email address. Student to player communication is allowed to allow business negotiation as part of the simulation, however, since students can be approached by the free players in the simulation we require students to be minimum of age of 15 year old.

Cost

The goal is to provide simcompanies as a learning tool as cost-efficient as possible. In order to bring the cost down the setup is made intuitive and there is no prior knowledge needed. There is no assistance to start using the simulator needed. At the same time, we recognize some institutions require a lengthy Know-Your-Client / Vendor approval process which is a big strain on our resources. Therefore we have 2 different pricing models to fit both types of customers.
